The Importance Of Bodybuilding Fitness

Posted on 13 March 2008 by Admin

Let’s face it, we would all like the body of Arnold Schwarzeneggar when he was in his prime. There’s certainly nothing wrong with admitting that! But bodybuilding fitness is more than just trying to lift as heavy weights as you can.

You must have a set plan that you will stick to. So having your goals laid out from the beginning will be crucial. Bodybuilding fitness has to involve aerobic routines as well as hitting the weights.

It is also vital that you are doing it purely for yourself too because if not, you may not stick to the hard training routines. If you’re doing it for someone else i.e to impress someone, then your focus may just disappear.

So firstly, say to yourself “this is for me and no-one else”. Make sure you remember this!

A great way to set out your goals and stick to them is to keep a record of your training. This will ensure you are doing enough work each week to achieve your ultimate goals. If you’re ever doubting yourself, you can have a quick look in your book and see that maybe you haven’t been doing enough work.

So you can then improve on this and not simply give up.

You must also realise that a body like Arnie’s will not happen overnight. You must fully commit for a long and hard process. You can have surgery to remove excess fat but you can’t have surgery that will give you instant muscles! Well OK, you can in certain parts of the body but we’re not talking about that here :)

It will be a difficult combination of losing excess body fat as well as trying to build muscle, so your diet will be the main factor in your bodybuilding fitness success.

You’ll be avoiding the normal 3 meals a day and changing it for 4-5 smaller meals a day. This speeds up your metabolism and will help to burn fat quicker. Consuming a high amount of protein will also be essential for helping your muscles to grow and develop effectively.

You must also learn to drink like a fish and we’re talking about water here and not beer! You should aim for a good 2 litres each day, which helps to keep the body hydrated at all times.

Always look back and keep checking your goals. This will help to keep your focus and know why you are putting yourself through all this pain and effort!
