Teenagers tend to be more involved in sports than adults due to them having to participate in them at school or college. Many of them enjoy the sports but of course, there are many teenagers who don’t enjoy them as much. There are not too many sports that help to keep the body in shape more than bodybuilding. In fact, teen bodybuilding is becoming very popular with these young adults all over the world.
But unlike adults, there are many things a teenager has to bare in mind if they are thinking of starting to train with bodybuilding. This is because their bodies haven’t fully developed as adults have, so they must be cautious in how much training they do.
If you have just reached being a teenager (13) then it is advisable for you to start small and stick more to the exercise part of bodybuilding rather than starting to lift weights that are too heavy for your body to deal with. Once you reach 16, you can then move on to doing some of the more heavy duty exercises such as deadlifts and squats. This is because the muscles are a lot more developed by the time you reach 16.
You should also try to eat a healthy diet as much as possible. Stick to the right balance of carbohydrates and proteins and try to avoid as much junk food as you can. Eating things like burgers, chips and sweets will only give you more fats than you need and you will have to work twice as hard to burn them off.
It is also highly recommended to use aerobic exercise in your routine too. This can be running, walking or cycling. This really helps to keep the body and the heart healthy. Ideally you should try to incorporate at least 30 minutes exercise per day, on top of your bodybuilding. But also remember to not overdo your bodybuilding and make sure you have at least one day off per week. Giving the muscles time to relax and develop is just as important as the training itself.
Teen bodybuilding can be very fullfilling and enjoyable as long as you train with common sense and don’t overdo things. It is also a great way to release any stresses that you may be facing with school or your homelife.
