Arnold Schwarzenegger made the popular pastime of bodybuilding into a huge worldwide phenomenon. His popularity increased dramatically when he preleased his bodybuilding movie “Pumping Iron” back in 1973. Before this, bodybuilding wasn’t really recognized as a competitive sport but Arnold certainly changed this. Here’s an example of his incredible physique in the Arnold Schwarzenegger bodybuilding picture:

He first started bodybuilding when he was just 16. He walked into a local gym and was amazed by the huge frames of the bodybuilders inside. He wasn’t impressed by playing team sports and new that working as an individual would give him more satisfaction. So that is exactly what he did, he started training hard. In fact, harder than anyone else at the gym. Fellow bodybuilders were in awe of how hard he trained and how much dedication he had.

He showed how determination can really get you anywhere in life, as he worked hard to increase his physique from the very slender person he started out as. His dream of becoming Mr Universe was finally realised when he won the title in 1970. This really shot him into the limelight.

His passion for bodybuilding and rising popularity soon got him the chance of appearing in movies and it wasn’t long before he was given starring roles in some of the most expensive and popular movies of the 80’s and 90’s. One of his first breakthrough movies was “Terminator” where he played an alien form from the future. This led to a stream of all action movies that saw him being paid millions of dollars for starring in each one. Of course, nowadays Arnold has turned to politics and is the Governor of California. This seemed like a joke to many people at first, who thought he was doing it just for publicity but like with everything else in his life, he has proved people wrong. He has a lot of respect for the work he is doing and the passion he still has for everything he does. Love him or hate him, his commitment is something that has to be admired.
